I was actually very surprised to find out that "Bear Rock" was a franchise at first. The restaurant offers a very unique, very comforting feel, with many yummy treats too.
Half coffee-shop, half-home style restaurant, the Bear Rock serves a wide variety of coffees, pasteries, full and half soup and sandwich meals, a kids menu, and much much more (everything from meat-loaf to some very good macaroni and cheese).
Those customers seeking an "internet cafe" won't be disappointed either. Free WiFi is standard and every location boasts a large central fireplace, warm fire and all.
Speaking in terms of franchise investing, the Bear Rock is a higher captial franchise investment. Investors should have (or be able to obtain) around $600K in starting capital. Although the initial investment seems high, your restaurant/coffee shop makes money all day long. From early morning risers getting a cup of joe and surfing the new days news, to later evening customers grabbing dinner and a (few) beers - the Bear Rock is a very easy place to find one's self for several hours.
